Labour Court Annual Report 2022

As the nation moved out of the public health emergency brought about by Covid-19, the Labour Court saw the number of appeals and referrals received by the Court return to pre-pandemic figures. There was an increase of 97% in appeals received in 2022 compared to the previous year with 1,138 received in 2022 and 578 received in 2021. 61% of cases were heard in a physical Court Room in 2022 and while a return to a greater reliance on physical hearings is expected, the Courts commitment to providing accessible services to its users will see a continuing use of technology to allow attendance from remote locations.
